Description

Signed and high-quality aviation art print, illustrating Vulcan Bomber, B2 at RAF Coningsby.

An acrylic illustration  reproduced as a giclee print. Front line Vulcan B2’s are being prepared for Quick Reaction Alert duties, 1963. To the rear of the painting, Vulcans are scrambled and disturb the peaceful country surrounds. Lincolnshire is known as ‘Bomber County’ and RAF Coningsby, Scampton and Waddington, all operated Vulcans during the cold war.  The artist was a former air cadet himself and camped at RAF Coningsby with 1409 Air Cadet Squadron. The piece depicts his memorable visit and as a result, developed his passion and interest in this iconic aircraft. Historic Tattershall Castle is seen in the background.
